Photo Organization Services
At I Hate Scrapping, we know the decision to create a custom photo book means much more than just slapping some photos together. It’s about precious memories – their first steps, your wedding vows, unforgettable vacations, gatherings with your favorite people. Your precious photos need to be handled with care.
Whether they’re in boxes or on your computer, we will treasure your photos and organize them purposefully.
As professional photo organizers, we can help you:
- Sort through your photos and determine which ones to keep. Don’t waste your valuable time removing duds from your collection!
- Make sense of the photos you have. Whether they are printed photographs or digital pics, we can create a system of organization that fits your needs.
- Archive or backup your precious memories. If they are slides or negatives, we can convert them to digital media. If they are printed pictures, we can scan them and save them to CD or DVD. And if you have traditional albums, we can convert the pages to digital pics. You’ve got insurance for everything else that is valuable to you. It’s time to get “Memory” insurance!
- Set up an action plan where we provide any number of personal photo organization services on a set schedule. We can work with you once a week, once a month, or whatever works with your schedule.

How to Organize Your Photos to Create a Photo Book
Do you have bags of photos hiding in your closets or under your bed? Have you been wanting to go through them with each passing year?
Are your photos on your phone, in your camera and/or on your computer? Have you been wanting to consolidate them for a while now?
The first step to organizing your photos to create a photo book is having a purpose to organize them. What would give you the incentive to go through those bags or boxes of pictures? Why should you care about creating a central location for all your digitals pics? If you knew that Grandpa would appreciate an album of his experience in the army or that your daughter is graduating and you’d like to create an album for her, you’d probably feel more driven to go through your pictures, right?
Once you have your purpose, set aside blocks of time to go through your pictures. For paper photos, start by sorting out the photos you need for your project. For digital pictures, you can do the same thing and place them in their own folder on your computer. Remember to review the photos on your phone and camera, too.
As you review your pictures, start making notes about what they mean to you. Create a document that references each photo and the story attached to it. This will make it easier to place these photos and stories in your photo book.
The last thing you might consider adding to your photo collection is memorabilia such as brochures, maps, articles, programs, and any other items that would be significant to you. These items can be scanned and then added to your memories.
Now you’re ready to do something with the photos and items you’ve organized. You could create a photo book yourself or have professionals like us create one for you. We love to scrap! See samples of our work and read more about custom photo books by the experts.
